Hello All,

The introduction of the D5 has proven the online sales model to be very effective.  Our upswing in internet activity is well beyond our projections.  In monitoring the blogs and in reviewing our received email communications, requests for an 8" version of the D5 has been quite pronounced.  We are able to most quickly address those requests through the re-channeling of the existing Q8.  The Q8, through normal sales channels (distributor, rep and dealer) had previously cost the end-user $3000 per pair ($1500 each).  By selling direct online only and eliminating the middle men we are able to deliver this highly developed, feature laden product for $499 each (under $1k per pair).  To make it the best possible tool we are including the Automated Room Analysis Software at no extra charge.

There is something very exciting about this direct model.  Not only are we able to connect with our customers in a much more inclusive manner but it's very rewarding to make it possible for the working person to get the tools only the elite could previously afford.  Whereas I don't believe (at least at this time) that it is appropriate for the rest of the Q Series line, the Q8 being sold direct does immediately fulfill our customer requests.  The big winner here is the end-user who will be able to purchase a high-quality product for a price well below it's market value ... I like being able to say that.

The Equator Q8 studio monitor is the smallest in our Q-Series line of monitors. Measuring in at 13" x 13" x 13", it easily fits in most small rooms or direct/near field scenarios. The Q8 employs the identical design characteristics that have enabled the Q8's larger siblings to obtain such critical acclaim and features an 8" coaxial driver with a real compression driver horn. The model has made its way into some high-end facilities from Audiolin Music in Toronto, responsible for recording/mixing duties for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra to Groove Works studios in Santa Monica, CA to The Carriage House Recording Studio in Stamford, CT. 

 

Included is the Equator Control software application that enables a mix engineer to manually compensate for acoustic anomalies such as issues created by speaker placement and boundary conditions within the listening environment. Along with the environmental compensation, this included software also provides extraordinary control over the monitors — including equalization, mute, solo, and phase.   NOW INCLUDES THE AUTOMATED ROOM ANALYSIS SOFTWARE (Less the measurement microphone).
